@jlivingood There is one case we haven’t talked about yet. It came up on reddit. The user has XB10. The wired link speed between XB10 and computer is 1 Gbps. He tests above 1 Gbps on wifi, but less than expected on wired.
Are you doing someting special to address “ultra low lag” in this scenario (queueing of downstream packets inside XB10)? Shallow buffer (good for lag, but hurts TCP throughput)?
Edit: To clarify. The CMTS handles queueing downstream, while the modem handles it upstream. This works perfectly, as long as the local link between the modem and computer is adequate.
When we have a case, where the CMTS sends packets to the modem faster than the modem can forward them to your computer (faster than fx a 1 Gbps link speed can handle), we have a downstream bottleneck in the modem that is not specificed by DOCSIS.
