Some background-
I mow two acres every freaking week with a 55″ zero turn. It takes two hours and burns through 2.5 gallons of gas. So yeah, sometimes it’s twice a week I mow.
I keep about 20 gallons of gas on hand in 5 gallon containers during mowing season. This means I cycle through them two months or so.
The whole ‘save the planet’ nozzles are not for me. My solution is to use an intermediary ‘dump can’ that I use to fill the tractor. I just empty a normal 5 gallon container into the ‘dump can’ and that’s good for two mows. This allows me to keep my sanity when I fill the tractor as I have a good flow rate with a ¾″ hose.
Open to ideas on a better way. I don’t like storing that much gas on site either. But I’m not trekking to the gas station every time I mow. I did see some fuel transfer pumps at Horrible Freight. I had two thoughts. “Man, that could be awesome.” and “Wow, that’s a fire waiting to happen!”
