Sherlock Holmes is out of his comfort zone, mysteriously unable to investigate a sinister case without risking the lives of his closest friends. Enter young American Amelia. After her mother’s mysterious murder, she learns that her missing father may be the legendary detective. Despite wildly different backgrounds and attitudes, the pair must work together to solve a global conspiracy, crack her mother’s murder, and find out for sure if she really is Sherlock’s daughter.

S4 so that was Moriarty’s estranged son Amelia encountered. And Sherlock given another chance at eviserating another member of the Red Thread evidence-wise, but promptly took the “3 people can keep a secret if they’re all dead” principal. Sherlock also recieves a visitor who provides linkage on the relationship and parentage of Sherlock and Amelia.

So Sherlock has human feelings and reactions after all…

EP5 Gets into the backstory of Moriarty’s son; Sherlock’s line of “there was a plague of juvenille delinquents in London and a labor shortage in Australia, and the decision to solve one of these problems with the other was both inhumane and extremely popular” sent shivers down my spine, but Sherlock D.A.D.D. moment and “this company’s service sucks!” moment… XD

More time is given with Lady Violet and the stark reminder of class division, gender discrimination… and a murder. Not sure what the scene with her catching Amelia with the jade-handled knife was supposed to be… or with Clara’s father and his payout, but it’s keeping me interested!

Also, Sherlock cold-calling phone numbers and pretending to be someone else. Fun stuff.

I should’ve been more clear and stated that

“Lady Violet catching Amelia holding said knife should’ve elicited some sort of reaction from Lady Violet, but it didn’t.” Heck, Lady Violet all but threw Amelia out of the house for the social faux pas of “servants don’t demand help of their employers.”
I get Lady Violet is being set up as a member of The Red Thread and possibly complicit in the death of Amelia’s mother; in what capacity, I’m not clear on yet.

EP6 finally get the details how Sherlock and Amelia’s mother met, a rationale why Sherlock didn’t know … and a touching “and having come to know you, I would rather err on the side of good faith than suspicion.”

I loved the contrast with the exchanges between Moriarty Sr and Moriarty Jr… “Well what a heartwarming chat.” / “Is it possible he failed to inherit any of my abilities?”

“No need. I know where the door is.” Yeah, I’m with Amelia about punching Lady Violet.

EP7 was… WOW! So much packed in one episode, and still leaves room for what’ll happen in EP8. We get the rescue of Dr Watson and Mrs Hudson – along with an awkward “she’s my…my…” from Sherlock – we get a gold robbery of the Bank of England, we get more brilliant-but-want-to-punch-her-in-the-face with Mrs Violet, and what drives her… but the closer with Moriarty Sr and Moriarty Jr … and who the head of the Red Thread is…

I’ll say again : WOW!

The moment I heard Lady Violet’s speech when she was lecturing the girls about how men may rule the world, but it is women who can influence them, I already knew she was behind all of this.

Amelia looked quite lovely in that ballgown 😃 😃 And good things got wrapped up, though the competing leadership for the Red Thread was somewhat confusing. As was what Holmes called “the final mystery” as to why Little Dove abruptly left him like that.

Lady Violet’s final “match your wits” comment to Holmes… Don’t quit your dayjob, lady XD XD

It was funny that Sherlock said something like “this gown looks too tight” like his fatherly instincts were kicking in.

I think Sherlock realized that the reason Little Dove left so abruptly was that she found out that she was pregnant.
