Typical CW focus on 20-somethings. But, I’ll give a try. At least it’s set in the period, and not modern. I’d ignore if it was modern. I have added it to my Tablo to record. I’ll never use the CW app unless there is a recording issue…

So anyone else watch last night? I caught it and so far I don’t hate it…. plus I’m willing to give a 1-2 episode leeway to see where things go. SPOILERED here Sherlock seems to be Sherlock, but minus Mrs Hudson and Dr Watson “for reasons unknown.” More attention was on Sherlock’s supposed daughter, her backstory, and the reasons for seeking out Sherlock Secondary characters are beginning to interest me, like the lady Amelia met on the trip over, and her “minder.” And there’s some plotpoints that tickle my fancy… the ending scene of multiple kidnapees in coffins sent a shiver down my spine!

I watched it last night, and I actually liked it. I like that it doesn’t have an teen angsty romance crap going on. It’s more serious, and now hokey.

The map kinda reminded me of Game of Thrones.

The pilot was pretty good.
Sherlock was a bit of an ass, but so were a lot of the people in the pilot, especially to people lower on the social scale of the time. Sherlock at least had some reasons for his demeanor.
I thought the show was going to be more episodic, with maybe a different case per week, but it seems like they’ll be working on only a few cases for the season. That’s kind of disappointing for me.
I like the way they print out the clues on the screen, even though it seems kind of gimmicky.
The actress who plays Amelia does a great job.

Filming took place in Dublin in April 2024, with North Great George’s Street being used for exterior shooting.[8] Filming also occurred in County Wicklow.[9]

Good to know, was wondering about some of the shooting locations.

EP2 upped the stakes, with Sherlock and Daughter working together to investigate. Not sure what they were trying to do with the whole relationship – if it’s a mentorship, or Amelia pushing boundaries. Thewlis and Hunt have great chemistry, but still…

Also the bit with the Ambassador’s daughter was resolved, but maybe alittle too neatly, and the background regarding Dr Watson, Mrs Hudson, and Sherlock’s maid was explained but still hangs over everyone’s head.

Still, I HAVE to see where things go next! Can’t wait for EP3!

HELLFIRE I was pleasantly surprised that they wrapped up the kidnap story so quickly, and with a twist.
Sherlock’s still looking for Watson though.
Good show so far.

Annoyed about the 2 week hiatus, but glad to see EP3 finally and James Moriarty being brought in. Maybe somewhat lacking in the malice department, but comes off as not one to take lightly.

Still love the Sherlock-Amelia scenes, but the Amelia-Clara material and Sherlock eviscerating Charlie in prison were brilliant!
