dslwanter That’s funny. I have a relative in Howland who is the same way with Brightspeed. Had some kind of issue with them back when they were still Sprint Local or Embarq, and refuses to even consider using them to this day. I understand it to some extent, but at this point there’s surely almost nobody left at the company from those days anymore and the ownership/leadership has all long since been replaced through all the mergers over the years.
Nothing since December when their contractor hung the fiber bundles. They’re still there untouched with the slack loops. I wasn’t sure when the ground will be thawed enough for trenching, but the county has been having contractors trench for their public safety fiber network all winter long. I’m just surprised Kinetic/Windstream hasn’t worked on any of the above ground terminals yet in the meantime.
I know where our DSLAM is and there has been no activity there either. Oddly, the fiber ran down the road outside my neighborhood past the DSLAM and the last slack loop is at the pole where their copper trunk crosses the road to go underground for this neighborhood. If it weren’t for the letters continuing to come every month, I’d be questioning whether it’s actually going to make it this far after waiting this long with seemingly no progress.
