I noticed two splice enclusures with the Service Electric Cablevision logo silkscreened on the front of it and in yellow a code.
BFL1035 was on one, and then a BFL1040 on another maybe a few miles south of it.
This was driving from Pikeville, through district township down to covered bridge area in Oley, PA.
Thinking B stands for Birdsboro headend, so maybe there is a separate code for Sunbury and Hazelton.
Thinking FL stand for the Fleetwood hub which is fed from Birdsboro. There’s Twin Valley, Birdsboro, Fleetwood and they will build one in Spring township to overbuild Comcast out there. The proximity of the Fleetwood hub to Oley, District and Pike townships make sense.
The numbers, 1035 vs 1040 in this instance may be what port#, cable, etc designator. Interesting they incremented by 5, but there’s some farmland and undeveloped land in-between the two, never know if someone sells out and builds a new subdivision and then SECV could insert a number in between 1035 and 1040. Or maybe those numbers exist but in the lateral direction where I was not traveling. If its an incoming fiber #, I wonder what the outgoing PON split is… 32:1? 64:1?
In Amity and Douglassville, they do not have logo’s or descriptions silkscreened on the fiber splice cases. In some instances these splice cases are near existing OM6000 nodes, and in other cases sometimes not. They are not done though so maybe that comes after and is a sign that the plant is tested and live.
