I created this community to be the spiritual successor to DSLReports. DSLReports, after decades of service appears to have been shutdown. The mission of this space is to provide an early web experience without algorithmically driven content by sorting discussions based on date of last post. Since this forum is running more modern software than the forums of yore, it may feel like on the surface it may deteriorate into the social experience we know from other sites, but that wont happen here. With the community's support I plan to retain the old-school forum experience with your help. Please create discussions, reply and engage with others. We cant let this community die. Is there a forum missing that you want to participate in? Create a discussion in t/broadband-bulletin. Spread the word. We want as many community members to find us as possible. If you a new here, welcome! This forum isn't just for old timers. As this site takes hold moderators will be appointed and community guidelines will be established. I have been a DSLReports member since 2005 and daily visitor since before that. It is good to see you again.

A strange and unmannerly way for DSLReports to shut down, if deliberate by management. We need to consider the alternative that there might be force majeure at work here, keeping the site offline. Pinging the URL provides a response, at least for me tonight. Either way, a notice someplace would be helpful, so long as one could confirm authorship.

It is partly offline. You can still access pages that are not part of the "main site". Fx. https://www.dslreports.com/robots.txt

Whatever sits between the internet and the main page seems to trigger the ddos message at times. I'm starting to believe that it is not coming back.

DSLReports, that other broadband forum seems down for the count

In return, I think it's only fair to make sure others here are aware of SpeedGuide.net. They have been around since 1998, they have a great community of members and a treasure trove of information that needs to be preserved. I signed up shortly after signing up here as I really like the layout of the site and the forums.

I think they deserve a little love too. 💗

But along those same lines, keep politics out of any thread doesn't go well when stories from right or left activates are posted. It's bound to happen, sure, but lets be honest. When you post a gaslighting story, you are going to get some burn. /js 73's

Remember the early days of dslreports where Oxygen would post pics in the Pictures of Broadband Equipment forum? Seemed to be a lot of enterprise stuff in the NJ/NY area. I learned a lot from that stuff, grew up and then started working on some of that equipment myself.

bjf123 Wonder if that has been changed already? I found that 'dark theme' gear right away but when I click on it there is only light or dark ... no other themes as far as I can see?
