I created this community to be the spiritual successor to DSLReports. DSLReports, after decades of service appears to have been shutdown. The mission of this space is to provide an early web experience without algorithmically driven content by sorting discussions based on date of last post. Since this forum is running more modern software than the forums of yore, it may feel like on the surface it may deteriorate into the social experience we know from other sites, but that wont happen here. With the community's support I plan to retain the old-school forum experience with your help. Please create discussions, reply and engage with others. We cant let this community die. Is there a forum missing that you want to participate in? Create a discussion in t/broadband-bulletin. Spread the word. We want as many community members to find us as possible. If you a new here, welcome! This forum isn't just for old timers. As this site takes hold moderators will be appointed and community guidelines will be established. I have been a DSLReports member since 2005 and daily visitor since before that. It is good to see you again.

Wow so many familiar names. Haven't found it yet - maybe it doesn't exist. Curious if theres a user list and if not, if the admin can tell us how many signed up so quickly. I'm just into metrics and stuff. For such short notice its actually pretty amazing a nice group of folks from the other site found it over here! Did we reach 100 users yet?

I know baby steps. This site is in its infancy, but for day 1 you can't knock who all signed up!

Then, click on Broadband Bulletin Forum on the top left of the page and select Following.

A work around that I currently use is to pin a forum list in a separate tab and refresh on occasion to see if there are any new threads.

Kathy_9 From your image, selecting "Follow" will follow the thread, Security Forum thread #1 Jan 18 2025, but not the forum, Security. In DSLR we used to be able to follow particular forums by "favoriting" them and seeing updates to them on the "postlist" page. I don't see a way to do that here.

broknsymetry That's what I thought too? There didn't seem to be a way to favorite a specific forum itself, only the thread within a forum. I don't want to ask for too much from @SLC_96 right now as I'm sure he's very busy making so many changes to Broadband Bulletin already. But it is a valid point to note. I myself hope to see a way in the future to add a dark theme, and to perhaps have a way to have the landing page or "root" of broadbandbulletin.com to display DSLR-like news links. I'm not sure if this is possible here or wanted by our community... just a thought. I have some other ideas too that I'll post at a later time.

Dustyn There is a dark theme. I stumbled on it trying to find a way to follow a forum. At the upper right of the screen next to your user ID is a gear looking icon. When I tap on that, it scrolls through a couple of themes, one of which is dark.

re: HLF ..
it's a catch22 .. yes i'd like folks to know about our new home here at www.broadbandbulletin.com .. but i wouldn't want any to bring the HLF crass/crudeness/toxicity/MAGA stuff over here as that's why many here didn't migrate to HLF.

p.s. please do PM good folks like Lazman & Polodude if they are still at HLF ..
