I created this community to be the spiritual successor to DSLReports. DSLReports, after decades of service appears to have been shutdown. The mission of this space is to provide an early web experience without algorithmically driven content by sorting discussions based on date of last post. Since this forum is running more modern software than the forums of yore, it may feel like on the surface it may deteriorate into the social experience we know from other sites, but that wont happen here. With the community's support I plan to retain the old-school forum experience with your help. Please create discussions, reply and engage with others. We cant let this community die. Is there a forum missing that you want to participate in? Create a discussion in t/broadband-bulletin. Spread the word. We want as many community members to find us as possible. If you a new here, welcome! This forum isn't just for old timers. As this site takes hold moderators will be appointed and community guidelines will be established. I have been a DSLReports member since 2005 and daily visitor since before that. It is good to see you again.

Is there a good page to “bookmark”? Is the front page just the list of forums?

I’m time this is exciting to see how the site can develop and evolve as it gets a bunch of uses.

SLC_96 I have servers in two colo’s but it’s my day job. Yes a 48U rack with dual power and dual gig Internet handoffs is about $1300 a month here. This is for about dual 5kW 30A feeds. More power or bandwidth is more $$.

I looked in way back machine and I started that thread on April 27th 2013. That was about the time the transition was starting to happen.
Thankfully someone just posted about DSL Reports ended and posted a link to here.
With ftth happening there should be a lot of posts so this thread may get recognized on google again.

px_eliezer_ Good to see you. I wanted the colors to be crisp for our aging eyes, but soft enough for long nights on the forum and to not scare away the newbies.

Happy to be here as well. Wasn't super regular on DSLReports but is was very useful when I needed it. A couple feature requests : dark mode and favoriting (so they show up towards the top) of forums. I realize it's very early so definitely not expecting these anytime soon (or maybe at all!). Regardless, thanks for setting this up.

hellmagethevile yes dark mode would be nice if the forum software has that plugin.

Otherwise it looks nice so no worries if it’s not something easy to implement at first.

Curious as to the “home” page. Dslr had a home page of news. Not saying someone “needs” to keep up on news links or editorials… but I take it the home page is just a large list of forums at this point? Currently viewing on my iPhone. Just was going to make it a home screen icon like DSLR was. To do that, I want to make sure I bookmark the most appropriate landing page to not miss new content, but also quickly see if there’s updates on followed / participated content.

SLC_96 Thanks for creating this website it looks great so far. Not to get too far ahead since I know you are busy setting this website up and trying to get things running smoothly but should the website add advertisements or an option for a subscription to help fund and maintain the website?

Thank you for creating this replacement for DSLREPORTS. I was a member since 2005 as Hemigod. I look forward to 20 more years of great information and knowledge sharing. All the best to you as you the site grows and more people learn of it and use it. Thanks.
