We know WHY Canadians are “staying away in droves” from the USA
Not necessarily and it may have less to do with politics and more to do with the fact that the Canadian dollar hit the lowest point it’s been in more than a decade and inflation has made everyone poor.
Canada has the highest household debt out of the G7 countries and Canada has the lowest GDP per individual out of a long list of first world countries. The news media is painting this happy rosy economic picture of Canada for some f’d up reason but every single person I talk to of all ages has been broke all year and it has nothing to do with the recent antics across the border. It may simply be people can’t afford to fly this year.
Seriously though, we need to stop pretending that Canadians aren’t doing as well as we’re pretending they are.
In another thread on a similar topic someone had claimed that people were redirecting their travel plans to the US to other locations so would they really need a bailout if people were still flying, just not to the US?
Furthermore, if they weren’t flying to the US, perhaps they’re flying elsewhere in Canada?
Your link shows a decrease in American flights but doesn’t show an equivalent decrease or inversed increase to other locations.
