InternetJeff That’s actually above and beyond the services that a typical hotel housekeeper would provide. It shows drive, initiative, and represents someone who may not stay in a hotel housekeeping job. I see a person like that eventually managing a hotel some day.
Definitely a hard worker but it’s also a cultural thing, there are countries that provide amazing hospitality even if they hate you. And on the other side of that coin I could list off countries where you’re lucky if you don’t have to call down to the front desk for toilet paper and no amount of tipping will have an impact.
As for tipping, I never tip my plumber, electrician, or mechanic but tradesmen love getting a two-four of Budweiser.
People who should always get tipped: restaurant wait staff, bartenders, barbers, taxi drivers, paper boy, bellhops, porters, valets, chauffers, shoe shiners, casino dealers (if you win big), and your door man if you’re rich.
