Well, as per Star Wars fandom, Disney has not done many favors to that franchise lately.

It’s really sad what Disney has done to formerly successful franchises. The original Snow White adjusted for inflation is the highest grossing animated film of all time. It is considered as one of the greatest films ever made. Some films you just can’t remake.

There have been so many SW flix it’s hard to keep track. ( SW & the 7 Samurai?)
How on earth to modernize, yet keep the original appeal? It’s beyond dated.

Aside from the MANY issues with the cast, script, etc, WHAT was the anticipated market for this movie?

It’s not just Disney that is stupid at times.

There is an excellent Loony Tunes movie that is being held hostage—it is all FINISHED and is supposed to be excellent.

The name is “Coyote vs Acme” which imagines the Coyote making a lawsuit against Acme for all the defective Acme equipment.

Warner Bros. actually was going to NEVER RELEASE the film, SOLELY to be able to take a TAX LOSS.

That is an obscene perversion, such a stunt should constitute tax fraud.

FINALLY it looks like the film may be released (in all meanings of that word).

Based on what’s being reported in entertainment media its Hollywood that’s having the drama and issues. No help from grown men needed. But I agree that some people should move on from being triggered by other people’s opinions of bad films.

lolllllllllllllll. On one hand I support the ability for a person to have a private life and engage in whatever activities they want, on the other hand I recognize the impact of an actress behaving like an absolute moron and broadcasting her topical opinions online.

I checked her IMDB profile and there’s nothing listed as ‘in production’ so clearly studios are avoiding her with a 10 foot pole.

It’s crazy she did this in the first place but what’s even crazier is that she didn’t stop. Why on earth would anyone knowingly bomb the meal ticket called “Disney”? This goes beyond the vapid ignorance of someone with a low IQ, people literally flew to her to get her to stop. Why Rachel, why!?

urbanriot One time-honored principle of communication is to know your audience. With that in mind, one has to wonder how exactly the actress’s commentary is relevant to the traditional primary target audience (young kids) of “Snow White”, and does said commentary further the promotion and consumption of the product. Uttering Hamas slogans would seem counterproductive to that end. But perhaps Disney is on to some new and innovative marketing strategy that has eluded the industry so far. Maybe it will increase ticket sales. Oh… wait.

Budget: 270M$ - Box office: 205M$ = 65M$ to go. It ain’t over yet.

I’m a bit skeptical about how much what an actor/actress/director/producer says in public has an impact on how well a film does. It can have an impact, but it seems that it’s the people that are the most online that really pay attention and seem to have detailed knowledge of which celebrities hold which political views.

It’s also a bit odd that the people that it’s the people that are usually the most pro-free speech, and against cancel-culture that are cheering comments like this on:
