Yup he should have gotten at least 10 games,but the reaction of the leaf players says all you need to know about these clowns.
How pathetic is it that not one player came to his defense,what kind of a team doesn’t stand up for their captain….seriously, that’s messed up.👎🤮🏒

I don’t really buy what Bieksa is saying. That’s a distraction.

Who cares how the Leafs respond after the incident? It doesn’t change anything. Sure, Bieksa can imagine a fight that he would have against long-deceased person from a different sport, after his teammates get touched.

That doesn’t change the fact that the player got hurt. Wouldn’t prevent anything. When Crosby got his brain knocked around, they had an enforcer, Mike Rupp. What did he manage to do? He didn’t prevent anything.

All the chest pumping from peolple like Bieksa about what they would do on the ice doesn’t change anything, even if they were actually there.

Of course it changes things it just shows what kind of a team the leafs are and why they aren’t making the playoffs…. Why would any player want to come to Toronto if that’s how they treat their captain? 🤮👎

I think it’s more to do with who the captain is. Have heard some sports talking heads say Matthews has lost the locker room.

To be fair, Bieksa was willing to step up for his team:

Seems like the threat of having to fight Bieksa did not deter other teams from sending one of the Sedins off on a stretcher.

And then there is the incident with Duncan Keith:

You can see Bieksa was even on the ice. Keith didn’t have to fight Bieksa and he wasn’t deterred from elbowing Sedin in the head with Bieksa on the ice. Keith got 5 games. Sedin had his season ended.
