Jarry used to be a pretty good goalie and all star. He carried some declining Penguins team to the playoffs or near the playoffs. He’s fallen off as the Penguins have had their team hollowed out, and he’s had to do it while playing for the joke that was Mike Sullivan’s defensive systems.
But it is kind of a gamble. He can play really well. But the Penguins have a habit of blowing leads late in games. Jarry has been a part of that.
Probably the biggest issue is his playoff experience. Not much to speak of. And it wasn’t particularly good:
