The People's Republic of China was just found liable to the tune of $24B+ in US Federal court for various negligences associated with covid. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/07/us/missouri-china-covid-judgment.html IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that a judgment by default is entered against Defendants the People’s Republic of China, the Communist Party of China, the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, the People’s Government of Hubei Province, the People’s Government of Wuhan City, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences on Count IV of Plaintiff’s Complaint. It is further ordered that Plaintiff is entitled to an award of damages on Count IV of his Complaint against defaulting Defendants, jointly and severally, in an amount of $24,488,825,457.00. There may be some confusion here. This was not a state court case, but a federal case. Upon successful petition, the federal courts can order the seizure of assets anywhere within their jurisdiction. It’s not necessarily limited to Chinese assets in Missouri.
