It all started pretty much with Napster and CD burners, and the rest is pretty much history, even though before that you could of course tape music. You don’t have to even download music anymore and can just listen to whatever you want to on YouTube and therefore don’t have to wait for your favorite songs on the radio or put on a record or CD like you had to in the past. I have endless LPs and even a bunch of 45s and a lot of factory CDs from all the years gone by but I can’t see any reason to ever buy another one, especially LPs that now go for twice the price as the same CD. I currently have four receivers going, one for virtually every room in the house, all hooked up to a computer via the receiver’s tape output to the computer’s sound card for direct internet streaming that you can easily do with the type of cable shown below, with Henry Kloss’s Advent loudspeakers and this audio equalizer extension, so the quality is every bit as good as a vinyl record or CD. When I’m in the mood I’ll play a record or CD but there’s really no need to do so and certainly not to spend anything for them. BTW, I did get a better box for those 45s but am just too lazy to take a new picture.
