KingB71 depending on where the boat makes landfall, it might still be subject to tariffs even if it's a shipment from Europe to Canada. It would have to arrive in Halifax to avoid having to pay tariffs in the US, and again when it crosses the border into Canada.
There is some shipping from major ports in Europe to Halifax, but there's a lot more to New York, Savannah, or Charlestown.
Lindt is... ehh. I don't blame them from making this change, but it's not about sticking it to the USA, it's about trying to keep their prices down when they're already seen as a "premium" chocolate brand. (which I find amusing - they're among the better ones you can readily get everywhere, but I've had fresh made-that-day chocolate in France, Belgium, and Switzerland, and it doesn't even come close. And there are chocolatiers in Canada who make the product fresh/on site and are as good as anything you can get in Europe -- Stubbe's here in Ottawa, for example, is leaps and bounds better than Lindt, while not being that much more expensive.
