Even if a bar is serving bad liquor the people keep coming back for more.

It’s true though that Paramount/Skydance/CBS has managed to tick off a lot of different folks lately. 🙂

It’s true. I’ve watched all the nu-Trek episodes despite feeling like nu-Trek is mostly garbage. Mind you, I’m not going out of my way to subscribe to the services to watch them, I’ve either seem them off terrestrial antenna, at a friends on cable, or borrowing accounts whenever it’s convenient. I expect a lot of true Star Trek fans, of which there are many millions, are also not going out of their way to pay for their garbage.

Yes, several of the recent Star Trek shows has tanked and likely driven hard core fans away. Personally, liked Lower Decks and mostly find Strange New Worlds to be OK. Hated the later seasons of Discovery and outright hated Star Fleet Academy. Don’t even get me started on the Section 31, half baked and ended up being terrible. Picard started off bad but last season was fairly good. Prodigy also was OK, not great but not bad for what it was. Very Short Treks had its humorous moments.

MacLeech One can only hope the planet exploded killing them and the writer that cooked up that script.

All the star treks have left behind a number of really good plots which never lead to anything, and that show wasn’t one of them; what a fantastically terrible story. The crew could have phasered the pond and unfucked the problem but nope. At least it’s stuck in the Delta quadrant which likely will not be brought up much in the future.

I like SNW, I think it is well done. Discovery was meh, but still watched. SFA I do not think is as bad as many say, but then again my wife accuses me of being 12 all the time so maybe I am the target market 🙂

The last season of Discovery was not good, the stupid relentless hunt for a pair of love birds, the multi episode to say goodbye to the kelpian only to have him show up in the next episode extensively and then the unexplained ending of sending the ship with its sentient computer into the abyss to suffer slowly a sort of deprivation dementia as it decayed alone in space.

When I read the synopsis I was like, “ugh, dinosaurs with a trailer of Pike on a horse, this sounds dumb, zero interest”.

… but it was actually much better than I expected, I really enjoyed it, it felt like a classic Star Trek or TNG episode. No overarching plot, no “woke” nu-Trek BS, less relationship crap, overall it was just a good Trek story with decent sci-fi.

I hope they keep this up.

It was funny I found TNG a little off kilter for the first season it was like they were doing a dry run characters weren’t acting like themselves,until S2. 😜😄
