Legendary actor, two-time Oscar winner and author Gene Hackman and his wife, classical pianist Betsy Arakawa, were found dead Wednesday afternoon in their home in the Santa Fe Summit community northeast of the city. Santa Fe County Sheriff Adan Mendoza confirmed just after midnight Thursday the couple had died, along with their dog. Mendoza said in an interview Wednesday evening there was no immediate indication of foul play. I’m not familiar with this matter, but I tend to think that if a next of kin tries to claim bodies for funeral it should be a pretty straightforward case without any red tape. Maybe the reason behind this delay will be disclosed.

-Everything- can become contentious among the family when it comes to who’s in charge of an estate even with funeral arrangements: “What? How can you let HIM/HER be in charge??” crapola. Who is designated the PR is up in the air in Gene’s will since the deceased wife was the one designated. I forget if there was a successor named.

Right, but no one seems to know who is in charge.

One thing that Judaism and most sects of Islam have in common, is that burials should take place without much delay.

Once the medical examiner (coroner) has completed their examination, that would be a good example for these families to follow.
