I used some clip-on heat sinks that came with the last Aoostar mini PC I purchased. And it dropped the temp a few degrees on the three Samsung Gen 4 NVMe drives in it. But, I only used them because they were in the box with the PC. The previous Aoostar Mini PCs I bought did not have any of the clip on heat sinks.
Otherwise, I didn’t add anything to the 20+ Samsung NVMe drives (Gen 3 and Gen 4) I use in other devices. Since they need to get super hot to have any effect on their performance. Which has only happened if I ran a torture test on the drives.
EDIT: I forgot, I did use a heatsink on each of the NVMe drives I added to my two PS5 systems. But, those were built into the NVMe cover plate. That replaced the stock PS5 cover plate.
