Can no longer play embedded YouTube videos on this site with new version 152.0. Message is playback not supported. I’m pretty sure that it’s my FF configuration and likely one of my extensions because I tried to revert back to v 151.0.4 and after that my whole profile and with it my extensions wase gone and then the problem was also gone. Pretty sure that the problem was only on this site as IIRC I could still play YouTube videos straight from the browser–IOW straight with FF but not those embedded here on BBF. Any ideas? It also seems to be a little bit of a trick to disable the auto updates to new versions that I will have to do in the interim–any help with that would be appreciated as well. TIA.

Big change is the Settings layout. Looks like Edge/Chrome now.

It is fixed (now confirmed days later)–it was a YouTube Enhancer extension. BTW, this regedit tweak (Method 2) that was supposed to disable Firefox updates did not work (although perhaps I had to reboot first before it would take effect, so possibly it would work).

Just upgraded to 152 and the youtube embedded videos here are still working for me. Also use ublock origin.

On the Android version, suddenly seeing a “1 Tracker Blocked” note below my shortcuts on the FF home screen.

Had to go to the Mozilla forums, but found a post with an answer. In Settings/Homepage toggle off “Privacy Report”.

Just got an update to 152.0.1.

Fixed frequent crashes affecting users with Intel Raptor Lake processors. (Bug 2039575)
Fixed an issue on macOS where choosing a PDF option, such as “Save as PDF”, from the system print dialog would send the job to your printer instead of saving a file. (Bug 2047850)

I just switched my default browser from Firefox to Chrome…

With much regret….

But I’ve been seeing full freezeouts with Firefox lately, I will see if this resolves with Chrome or not.

BTW, I do not have a lot of FF extensions installed or anything like that.

px_eliezer_ As noted in the release notes, the .01 release fixed an issue with crashing on some Intel CPU’s.

Sorry to hear of tus problemas but did you choose Chrome for the most potential compatibility? For that reason it is probably the best choice, but as you know the reputation of Google as the enemy is prevalent. Seems like everyone has at least colloquially deleted the first word of their original motto, ~~Don’t~~ be evil, leaving just the remainder. I’ve considered switching a few times out of frustration but have not because I have been able to resolve all issues, but if I ever do so my choice would be Brave.

Everyone’s always complaining about all the updates but all other browser developers update at the same frequency, about once and sometimes even twice per week like Mozilla does here. Yeah, it’s a bit of a hassle but the only alternative is that by relaxing the same the crooks and scammers will open up a lead in the war of good vs. evil, something that we cannot allow.

HFB1217 It can never be perfect. Show me a perfect app. It doesn’t exist. All apps have issues.

I use Square Payments for credit card processing and they have sharply increased their frequency of updates.

AFAICT in that case it’s not about security but rather to push new services and assorted crap.

Firefox cannot be used to log in with Quest Labs, LabCorp, NJ American Water, and many others.

I wish they would try to fix some of the basics rather than pursue delusions of grandeur.

px_eliezer_ If by LabCorp you mean the medical testing company, it works fine for me. I’m literally just reviewing some recent tests as I type this.

Patient login and provider login are different—however looks like LabCorp [has] fixed this recently.

But Provider login for Quest Diagnostics still refuses Firefox, it leads to this error message.
