Today has been a particularly “Active” day for our UPS’s & Generator!!
Multiple outages, so much so that Zito is offline upstream of provisioning Server, and they are trying to recover.

Well, their servers may be punch drunk, but here, my 6x UPS’s and whole house generator are doing fine. It’s been 9 months since the install of the “SERVICE UPS NOW!” Boxes on all UPS’s…. Figured today is a great time to see how they faired, as switching back & forth between power sources has been occurring often.
All 6x of the: “S-UPS-N” boxes indicate NO UPS Failures have occurred!
OK! I’ll check them again in a few months!

Much easier than lugging laptop & USB cable around and running tests on them, to 6x UPS’s!

If a failure occurs, but then UPS Recovers & restarts, the UPS Will not indicate a failure has occurred, but the “S-UPS-N” box will flash a Red/Blue LED!

I was thinking the same thing but it isn't a real United Parcel Service venting without a screenie of the "ridiculous" tracking history. 🙂

Yep!
This will inform you (when UPS Won’t) if welds in battery opened up and then heal themselves enough for UPS’s CPU to re-boot with AC Voltage still applied. This leaves the UPS in a state that appears fully operational, but will immediately fail the next time ac power is lost.

Heavy winds last night. Trees down on either side of me.... Rain, too! Multiple power failures..
My:
"Service UPS NOW" Device did EXACTLY What it was supposed to do... Indicated a UPS FAILURE!!
Swapped UPS with spare and tested suspect UPS in a non-critical area.... YES! Batts are poor! Ordered replacement Batts!

What it does: If Power fails on UPS and UPS Batts cannot provide enough power for the attached load, 120VAC fails at UPS Output and UPS Program crashes.... BUT IT CAN RECOVER, (Because the AC Feed returns, and the load on batteries has been removed!) UPS Program then Re-Boots, and because 120VAC power has now returned, and it is powering the load, The UPS Program thinks ALL is Fine, when, in fact, It's a time bomb waiting to fail again!!.....
The "SERVICE UPS NOW" BOX senses the 120VAC returning after a complete failure, and it flashes an LED, to indicate it has failed, but recovered!!! It remembers, and Flashes an LED.... Whereas the UPS program, having just re-booted, has NO IDEA a failure has occurred!!! Resistor values are approximate and I do bevieve R3 values are flip flopped, but will work as posted! Sorry!
