Not very many shows/programs/sitcoms/etc.., last for 50 years, but SNL is only a few hours away from hitting that milestone!! From its humble beginning, it is now the longest-running American sketch comedy show, and the second longest-running American variety show, and it shows no signs of letting up anytime soon. Saturday Night Live is making a big deal out of its 50th anniversary. There have been multiple documentaries, a film and, this weekend, three special events: a concert that will be live-streamed, a re-broadcast of the show's first episode and an anniversary special. People with certain bias are just too biased to be able to evaluate certain things objectively. They can't do much if some people are providing more opportunities to make fun of them.

That works both ways too. There's also confirmation bias where you agree with what you're watching or reading and therefore that makes it all true. You can also have been so saturated with that same viewpoint you actually believe that is the "unbiased" version of an issue.

They can't do much if some people are providing more opportunities to make fun of them.

I won't disagree with that. I'm an atheist so I too find the Church Lady somewhat funny but what if you are religious or a member of the clergy? I'm sure there are some that do but I would imagine the majority of religious people don't and guess what political persuasion they belong to?

Why are you arguing about something being "true" when we're talking about the SNL? That show is mainly for entertainment, and whether it's based on truth or not is secondary at best. Maybe because it often makes fun of people who are being out of touch with reality? 😲
