I enjoyed it, a good mix of drama, thriller, and horror sci-fi.
This is pretty much a Doom meets Stranger Things meets Last of Us rom-com.
The first half was semi-predictable although it's possible that watching the trailer kind of ruined an aspect of the story so maybe it would have been less predictable if I hadn't watched the trailer. The second half was a lot of fun assuming you could turn off your brain and ignore the ridiculousness of how every situation they were in had a quick fix with an easy solution. It would make a good video game though!
Also, I couldn't help but think the whole time, there's a finite number of human hybrid creatures in the gorge so if they had enough ammo they would eventually clear them all out. Also, the first one they took down who was stuck in the horse's stirrup, I would have tried to communicate with it. Same as the one in the silo.
Also good effects for a streaming movie, the antics in the gorge were well done.
Not so sure about a jeep winch pulling up 4200+ pounds of weight on a cable tied to whatever he tied it to
I enjoyed how the first 3/4 of the movie was man against monster while the last 1/4 was man against man, kind of reminded me of the original Half Life + expansion (the video game)
Also, why didn't they shoot the Darklake plane down at the start of its arrival to terminate him? lol.
Ridiculous, dumb, but fun. Like that Amazon Prime movie with Chris Pratt a few summers ago, turn off your brain and enjoy the ride. Satisfying ending but I was kind of hoping for something with a twist of darkness, like Levi shows up, they're kissing, and oh shit there's a mutation on his arm!
