Any News on Breezeline's High Split Progress

Hey all, not sure if anyone is here from DSLReports but I was curious if anyone has heard anything on Breezeline's progress for high-split? I unfortunately live just outside of where they service (they're literally just down the road from me) so I'm stuck with Charter Communications who has been working on high-split in the area but I haven't really heard much about what Breezeline is doing here in the Columbus, Ohio market (or anywhere really).

That was a pretty large project that hundredgig was a part of. As with most things, the company didn’t give it the resources it should have had/continue to have so it’s languished and not been fully fleshed out.

hundredgig that doesn’t surprise me at all… NEO was very obviously being transitioned into the constructive abandonment phase when they were restricting it to node splits. Spectrum’s apparently so confident Cogeco’s abandoned the region, high split’s allegedly been cancelled. Not even on phase 3 any more.

That is absolutely false! Charter Communications (Spectrum) will be doing high split across 100% of their current footprint and then the Cox footprint will get it “eventually” post merger.

The writing was on the wall. That’s why I left.

Everything goes thru Canada now. They are still trying to save money but honestly from the inside reports it’s costing them more.

They are still having issues on this high split stuff.

Charter is still working on high split as well as PON conversions.

Many southern Ohio markets are now fiber over built.

With Alta and T-Mobile beginning to build Columbus. Breezeline is about to be put in the corner again.

FoxMike For what its worth, US side communication sucks as well. No ones talking, but part of that is because everyones scared for their job or is trying to protect their turf.

Does Breezeline reboot everything around 2-3am on Sunday morning? Seem to lose internet for a good five to ten minutes every Sunday morning around that time.

Just thought I’d revisit this. Haven’t seen or heard ANYTHING from friends who have Breezeline service about network upgrades while notices or anything. Seems like they may have just stalled out? Meanwhile Charter just replaced my node with a DAA node last week. Seems like Charter will have high split, AT&T will continue to build fiber, T-Mobile and Altafiber are coming into parts of Columbus… and Breezeline… is doing nothing! I’m starting to wonder why they even bought the Ohio systems from WOW! if they weren’t going to actually compete.

I’m leaving breezeline if another provider gets me 1 gig up and down to my door. My wife told me her work just started a program that offers up to $150 a month stipend for internet service since she works 100% from home and has been since COVID. I have 500/50 speed tier and still paying $22 a month because someone forgot to remove a promo three years ago lol. It’s why I don’t call in for any problems because I don’t want them to see the error and correct it.

Bodycount well, you may end up with Charter then! Haha I’ve been fighting Charter the last few weeks over intermittent speed issues that started after they did the node swap/DAA work. I think (fingers crossed) things seem to be stabilizing the last few days.

I ended up with a door-to-door guy from Spectrum a few months ago, while keeping an eye on the plans for high-split in Columbus I know that Spectrum at least has been moving that way with plans for at least a partial rollout here mid-2026 and hypothetically entirely completed by end of 2027. So with the swap to Mobile (from TMobile) and Spectrum from Breezeline, I went from about $200/mo combined to $140 combined (120 for mobile for 4 lines unlimited, and 20 for gigabit for life [apparently] from spectrum, and that will be auto-bumped to the symmetrical whenever it is enabled.

For what it’s worth the high split project has been given a pretty big push in Ohio and seems like they’re going to give it the resources to finish it out over the next several years, only time will tell.

High split is complete for the most part out of the Robinwood headend. I think the next part is the east side of Columbus.

Spectrum has been very aggressive I’ve seen lots of ATX amps and newer PHY nodes deployed.

Fiber competition is coming in so it’s gonna be fun.
