Favorite car

I came to write a post on the car that I just sold and it occurs to me to make it more inclusive as I’m sure we can all relate. Here’s mine. I just sold my car. In 2008, About a year or 2 after I got married I bought my wife a used 2000 VW Passat wagon with the V6 engine. It attracted My wife’s attention, beautiful blue with tinted windows sitting on the most prominent point of the dealers lot where everyone could see it. Little did I know what and how much could go wrong with it, and how expen$ive it was to fix. Me, ultra conservative and cheap basically. I sucked it up and rolled with the punches. The thing was fast. Audi V6 engine with dual exhaust, And 2 catalytic converters to replace. I guess I replaced both more than once over the years. The handling was a dream. It’s time to let it go. A young kid came by with scan tool in hand, talking with his remote buyer on cell. They got it for very little as it has many cosmetic defects but it still runs like a champ. They didn’t want the owners manual, the repair manuals, nor the extra 4 road tires I still have for it. I don’t understand what the buyers gig is? Was there a hotline for this car?

I think that whoever designed those jacks should be made to use them to change at least three tires while parked alongside a road.

The Lotus Esprit brought back memories. A high school girl friend’s brother bought a Lotus Elan. It was a great handling little car.

I must have a “male” problem. I don’t have a favorite car, except for the one that keeps running. Maybe that’s the engineer in me. 😉😉

I must admit, my favorite cars were the ones I built and hot-rodded, ’55 and ’56 Chevys. All three had bored small blocks and rock crusher Muncie 4 speeds.
