broknsymetry Humpback anglerfish (Melanocetus johnsonii) Unless you are diving very deep (200m-1900m, 1000m avg) you'd probably never encounter one. Even then the female grows to only about 6 inches and the male about 1 inch. One was recently photographed near the surface, the only known such observation. Story with video: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/video-black-seadevil-anglerfish-swim-ocean-surface/ After I watched Jaws I was afraid to go into the ocean for quite some time.
HELLFIRE broknsymetry After I watched Jaws I was afraid to go into the ocean for quite some time. ...Don't remind me. SOMEhow my childhood self was convinced Jaws lived in a particular local swimming pool in the neighborhood. Avoided that like the plague everytime we went! ð ð Regards
broknsymetry My only shark encounter was with a nurse shark while snorkeling around Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortugas. It was more afraid of me than I to it.
ZZZZZZZ broknsymetry I've had a few with black tip Sharks in the Caribbean... they're the most aggressive too.ðĶ
