My new Xfinity setup (and no I didn’t buy a new modem)

No I did not buy a new modem but I did make the plunge into Wi-Fi 7 with a new router. I used my existing CM2050v since I have the voice part of Xfinity and fiber is coming to my area and the fiber provider allows you to use your own router so I think the router will compliment the new fiber when and if it comes.

And yes I did take a hit on upload because it’s not mid-split certified.

iahawkeye83 If you get a chance test out MLO. Ive heard it can be a mixed bag on how well it works. But thats the biggest add to the WIFI spec in my opinion.

If fiber is coming soon it makes sense to get his network ready for it.

iahawkeye83 Do you have means to do a LAN based speedtest? I have OpenSpeedtest installed in a docker container and I can walk around with my phone to get WiFi to LAN speed tests.

I only have WiFi 6 with Ubiquiti AP’s and location is very dependent. I get 489/434 in my daughter’s room for example, but on the toilet I’m getting 705/615. Now that’s a high speed reading room connection!

Testing with an iPhone 16 pro max.
