DrSmith Yeah, it was an ongoing issue for us for years until finally one month the meters inexplicably started doubling actual data use. A bunch of us on Reddit had the same issues and Comcast finally acknowledged there was a problem, surprise. There are literally hundreds of search returns on their malfunctioning data meters if you do a web search, it's amazing that a company that tracks data use and charges big overages cannot reliably track the data. After years of carefully managing our data usage, busting all streaming devices down to 720p at our router, strategically scheduling big downloads and throttling data, I had finally had enough. It was the last straw for us and was the primary motivating factor for fleeing to Prepaid. Now the only data tracking I do is at my router to see how much money I'm saving since we're always way over the post paid data cap.
