Altafiber, formerly Cincinnati Bell, could be sold next year, according to a recent report from Bloomberg. Sale price could exceed $5 billion

Macquarie Group Limited, which owns the more than 150-year-old telecom with headquarters Downtown, is weighing the sale of Altafiber to another internet service provider or related business in a deal that could fetch more than $5 billion, Bloomberg reported, citing unnamed sources.

Cincinnati Bell was always an unusual company.
Never a full Bell System subsidiary, more of an affiliate.
And pretty much the last Bell company to keep using the Bell name (in the USA) or the iconic Bell logo (the old Bell logo was world-famous and is now relegated to history).

These days, the venture capitalists and investment bankers, trade companies like kids used to trade marbles.

Wonder if that is why they wouldn't give me a good renewal deal? They bumped me from $57 to $70 for the 600/600 meg tier. Tried multiple phone numbers and going into store no luck this time. Usually I can get away with adding a couple bucks on renewal. Been with them since the install FTTH in my area back in 2013 or 2014.

Spectrum was offering 500/500 for $40 and and $50 credit on first bill so that is what I am on now.

If this is comes to fruition , I'd put my bets on T-Mobile buying them out.

Wow, I never knew that T-Mobile was getting into the Fiber Internet business (as compared to their TMHI 5G offering).

They also are an investor in Lumos and Metronet, who are both fiber overbuilders in Ohio, as well.
