It's already been hard to cancel services.
Just recently found out that my Netflix account is compromised. I mean the email address and phone number were changed on the account.
I was paying for this through my T-mobile bill. I was going to cancel them away because of the price increase.
However, I just thought it was funny they got the account. I could have went thru Netflix to correct it, but when I enable the service through T-mobile, I just used her account for the household.
I went through the process of trying to find the account. Did all of the options but call them. I didn't bother calling them. I could have done it two different ways, either pretend to be her, or provide my POA.
However, since I was going to cancel away I would just cancel them through T-mobile.
The person that has the account, restarted it using my check card. So I reported the card as stolen and have a dispute on the charge. That shouldn't be hard to win. Should have the credit this week. However, I just thought it was funny.
Now we canceling services, I love playing the bounce around game they play. I will get it canceled. I will also tell the rep straight out I am canceling the service, do not do the retention plea. I don't care to hear what you can offer me today, just cancel my damn service. After I say that, I get the you service is canceled sir. Here's the confirmation number. Great, just to let you know, I have blocked your services from being able to charge me in case this isn't canceled. I will have no problems going to court over this.
I can be a d*ck at times when needed.
Never had any trouble with canceling TV services though Amazon. Just log into the website, go to the streaming services and cancel them. I will subscribe to certain channels depending on what show is available, and then when I get through the episodes I wanted, then it's canceled until the new season comes out.
I have a few streaming services that is provided though my sub to Directv. I also have Peacock through instracart. It has ads but it's fine. I might have something as well from my Walmart + sub. Can't remember what.
I also can get Hulu for free though T-mobile. I do pay for that service though. However, everything is easy to cancel. When you have to cancel by phone, I have fun with it. The retention person is going to make their money on trying to "save you". However, you don't want to be saved. I tell them straight out. This is going to hurt your stats but I am canceling. I don't want that pitch. I might get transferred to a few different people since they don't want to take that "hit".
I work in a call center setting. I know how the games are played.
