This thread is a continuation of a thread I started in the Scam and Phishbusters section at DSLR. DSLR's Robots.txt is blocking the Wayback Machine from archiving that section for some reason and the latest snapshot isn't recent. So the best I could do is download the thread from DSLR during the window that the forums are accessible with HTTrack. I can't figure out how to view a complete web page outside of HTTrack. The version of the thread I'm posting here doesn't have avatars and is missing some or all of the CSS, but it's still readable. In the last post I made in that thread on January 7th, I said I got 75 calls in a recent day before that post and that that was probably worst that it's ever been. Before that it was in the low 60's during the week. In the last week, I've only been getting a number in the low 30's. Although I got 42 on Friday. If the number of spam calls have been basically cut in half in a month, maybe they'll be all gone in 6 months😀? Also, I usually get about 24 spam calls on Saturdays, but I only got 3 calls total yesterday. I didn't answer any of them, so I don't know if they were spam calls. But none left me a message, so they probably were. At this rate, I should have no spam calls today after usually getting 10 or less on Sundays.

If it hasn’t come in 20 years, then I would guess not.

But I got rid of the Landline for an IPhone and their call screening mode saves me. Anyone not in my contact list goes to voicemail so I need not miss any legitimate calls. And you can flip the mode off and on for expecting imminent calls. I see the number of robo calls jump after I’ve given my number out to an online retailer. Then Interestingly, the amount of robo calls decrease over time with this feature. It’s like the calling program detects active screening then deletes your number from its program until I’m going a week without any robo calls.

Whether you have an iPhone OR an Android, each of these phones has built-in spam blocking available.

The volume of calls you describe is truly outside the norm.

Not to be paranoid, but is it possible that someone in particular really has it in for you (old girlfriend, stalker, collection agency...)

Have you tried to see if your phone number could be confused with another one (pizza shop, escort service, popular restaurant...) hence the inbound calls.

Do the calls come from some pattern of area codes, or are the area codes truly random?

I think it's just random.

In another thread, you mentioned that you were doing job applications, and I think you said that some of the purported employers seemed questionable.

Wonder if there's any connection between that and the spamming.
