So: I compared the TubiTV to both DTV 2K hardware and DTV APP.... and 'Other' tests: Last night during the game...
DTV 2K hardware saw Dolby Digital Audio, as did Roku 4K's DTV APP... Though TubiTV only saw PCM audio...
Pix Quality TubiTV (Via ROKU 4K) slightly better than 2K DTV Hardware... This is to be expected.
TubiTV about even with DTV APP (both as seen on same ROKU 4K 2024 "Ultra").. There were some subtle differences, which could be the difference in the 4K up-converters, or data paths used by each... Basically: The same pix quality...
Bandwidth never exceeded 3, basically stayed at 2+ peaks... This compared to TRUE 4K Movies via same ROKU 4K at 10-14... or more.
(PS: I saw no pix difference in Roku Ultra 2024 model, Roku Ultra 2023 model (With SD Ram Upgrade), or "Ultra LT" Version of Roku 4K -- That removed that variable! They all 'looked' the same)!
So since we hadn't seen the Native 4K, and knew via multiple posts that it was up-converted 2K....
This was an exercise in nothing..... We neither got native 4K video, nor Dolby simultaneously!! PHOOEY! TOO MUCH ABOUT NOTHING!
Last year, we were in Buenos Aires for Superbowl, and hotel got the native 4K Satellite feed, Or so they said, and was confirmed by a CBS Exec I contacted that night, who said that provider (who's name I could not pronounce) was the main Spanish Satellite TV feed for South America, and did have 4K hardware.... Yes, what I saw last year was better than what I saw this year! (But was in Spanish!)
Last Night: Yes, It looked "Good", but it could have been BETTER! Contact me again when you send Native 4K video with Dolby! 🙁!
