DSLReports temporarily back up in very limited way and read-only

I don't know what made me look this late at night but it appears DSLReports is back up, HOWEVER there is a banner at the top of the page that says:

NEWS: The full site corpus is only available (in readonly form) for 5 minutes past each hour, for members and guests.

And it appears there are no new posts. Also if you attempt to go there at any point not in that five minute window you get this:

dslreports.com is mostly closed

only the home page is currently
available

members and guests may return for
the first 5 minutes of any hour
and this might change without any
notice (DHMU -Justin)

So my suggestion is that if there are any posts there you know you want to save (and maybe move over here) that you grab them during that 5 minute window at the start of each hour while you still can. The problem, of course, is that you may not really know what might be useful going forward, and 5 minutes is not a lot of time to find and download anything, but I suspect he's doing that to avoid getting dinged for excessive usage.

Don't forget that you can also request that the Wayback Machine (https://web.archive.org/) save a copy of a page (use the "Save Page Now" feature) but that is something else that unfortunately may not be around forever.

Guy54435 Yeah, I saw that after I had posted the original post, but probably good to have a notice in here as well because there was some good technical info in the VoIP forum. I wish there was some good way to capture at least a couple of those threads but as I said the big problem is you never know what might prove useful later.

WhyADuck yes, although a lot can be pulled from the Wayback machine some stuff you just cant get that way.

I have found DSLReports.com to be readable beginning 5 minutes before the hour. Although flagged 'read only', I was able to delete an attached file from one of my posts.

A member previously setup https://www.9forums.com as a backup destination for when DSLReports.com died, like now. This backup site was offline but just recently returned online. There is an email address hello@9forums.com that may reach the site owner. Someone willing to send them an email could alert them to this new site.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sneakernet might be more efficient if someone could get that kind of access. At least it would ensure that the data isn't lost forever, and bandwidth gets cheaper over time.
