charterengr - and if anyone could figure out how to retrieve the old thread from DSLR and archive it here, that would be very helpful.
As I posted earlier I have all the pages of the thread archived on the Wayback Machine. Unfortunately, although I have at least one good snapshot of each of the 103 pages, several pages (hopefully just pages 6, 10, and 22) have a bad snapshot as well (taken after DSLR did its hourly shutdown). AIUI, according to https://help.archive.org/help/using-the-wayback-machine/ , when you're browsing from page to page on an archived site, by default it chooses the closest date to the one you're currently on. So sometimes you'll get a bad snapshot and have to manually switch to a good one. Not terribly user-friendly. Unfortunately, I have no way to delete my bad snapshots, even though I was logged into Archive.org when I took them. And of course I have no way to get Justin (or whoever's in charge) to keep the damn site open long enough for me to run through and get good snapshots of every page with roughly the same date/time. If the data could be copied somewhere else it would solve the problem, but at least it's available.
Edit: And as I mentioned, sometimes the Wayback Machine falsely claims an URL wasn't archived when it actually was, and it shows up eventually if you check later. I don't know if that's permanent or if it's because they distribute the data and it hasn't had time to propagate because I only took the snapshots about a day ago.
Edit: I ran through all the pages again today and it never falsely claimed a page wasn't archived, so hopefully that was temporary and won't happen anymore. The only remaining issue is with pages 6, 10, and 22 which each have one bad snapshot. If you hit one of those, go to the upper left where it says "4 captures", "5 captures" or "3 captures" for pages 6, 10, or 22, resp. Click on it and choose one of the good snapshots (the ones in blue), not the bad one (in red).
