Case mounted drive activity light

How important to you is it to have a case mounted drive activity light included? I find that more and more cases no longer have these lights installed. Most if not all motherboards still have a header for a drive activity light. Perhaps they are not as useful as they once were when HDDs were in use for the OS. Personally I still find them useful under certain conditions even with more modern SSDs.

For acviity? Not so important. For identification, important. That also typically involves a backplane for RAID setups for me.

I strongly prefer to have a case-mounted drive activity light. When/if the computer temporarily lags or seems to hang up, it's important to me to know whether it's a drive doing major accessing or a hanging computer/program that's occurring... especially during a WIndows update.

It used to be important for me, but as of right now most of my computers are under something, so even though they all have drive activity light -- I can't see them unless I go down and dirty.... 😉

However, the task manager is normally a very reliable substitute. If I see Disk 0 at over 90% that's usually an indication that I need to take some steps to remedy the situation, and if it's at a steady 100%, that means that it might be too late to act and all bets are off. 😐
