Actually, no, I'll have more proof than your survey - wait a few months and compare Netflix subscription numbers and we'll really see if there's a 29% drop in Canadian subscriptions.
Don't get me wrong, I'm in support of the intention, I just know they're full of shit. I've always bought Canadian produce whenever I can to support the Canadian economy and because we have decent standards for pesticides. Second from there I always buy American if it's cheaper or if Canadian isn't available because they also have decent standards for pesticides. Mexico though? Peru? Sorry but they test higher. Unless American produce goes up in price, I'll always prefer Canada, US, and everyone else in that order.
That and we all know that at the end of the day, the overwhelming majority of people purchase based on price and if there's US peppers on sale, people are going to buy the US peppers.
