Given that, as I understand it, Comcast is the cable operator to the north, south, and west of San Bruno (east is the water of the bay), I guess it makes sense Comcast was likely the only viable option. Small operators simply do not have the economies of scale for equipment or services. It is likely too bad (for the San Bruno residents) that the city could not attract a fiber provider to do a city wide buildout.
