does ipv6 work on rcable? I finally got tired of having a slideshow in teams (was perfectly fine when we had webex, but the company switched and conferences went to shit), and switched… but my ipv6 client on my router isn’t getting a lease any more. 🙁

Not sure if it helps any, but I was givin a /64 for ipv6 with bell as last mile. May have to put it in manually.

taraf I get an IPv6 address with TekSavvy. My ASUS router has an IPv6 tab where I just select “NATIVE”. After that, the router picks up the IPv6.

Yes… I had v6 on dsl… but it looks like I’m not getting a lease on rcable. bummer. 🙁

Your router can’t handle it as a delegation? It was almost no configuration for me (well as “no configuration” as is possible for the type of router I have – just had to tell it to automatically set up a dhcp server with the delegation it got)

edit — I say literally 5 mins before my router finds the dhcpv6 server & is able to get a lease. guess that answers my question lol. I have ipv6 again. guess it was at teksavvy’s end that I couldn’t get a lease this afternoon because I had only just switched the dsl over

Yup, similarly here’s what I had to set on a MikroTik RB4011. (I’ve set ether3 as the WAN port because the poe in is ether1 😉 so I’ve got ether1 and ether2 as the trunk ports to switches and e3 is wan. Though if I ever upgrade past gigabit, I’ll be making use of the SFP port as the WAN). Curiously, I had to enable the “address” checkbox – on DSL that wasn’t necessary. It was possible to just request a prefix & set that up in DHCP to have v6 connectivity but on cable I needed to get an address for the router too.
