I'm sure we all enjoy finding new little nuggets to install in our home labs, so I figured why not start a conversation!

My home lab is run on a tower I built.

Services (all docker):

homepage - homepage with all my services
ddns-updater - to update my domain name
caddy - reverse proxy + hosting some things
mumble server - the best!
rtorrent/rutorrent - to serve those linux isos
mealie - recipe manager
changedetection - detect changes on some web pages
uptime kuma - monitor some services
Adguard Home - no ads on my network
Tailscale/Wireguard - VPN
Nautical Backup - automatic docker backup
Pingvin share - to share files, this one's public
TheLounge - IRC bouncer

I receive different notifications from the services on Telegram and NTFY.

ToNIX Awesome! I haven't gone down the rabbit hole of Tailscale yet, but it's definitely on my list. Right now there's no access from outside my network (which is what I wanted), but I have decided I do want access to certain services outside the network now. I have a lot of work to do internally for all of that though. I have yet to properly setup a domain internally and my OPNSense router is running in it's own hardware.

A couple of Dell Optiplex 7020's.

I have two Minisforum MS-01s with Intel Core i9-13900H CPUs. Both have 96GB (2x48GB) Crucial RAM. One has 2x4TB Crucial SSDs and one has 2x2TB Chinese SSDs (forgot which brand). Both run Rocky Linux 9.

Both have four Tor relays each. The 4TB one Nextcloud and a BitTorrent seedbox. The 2TB one has EVE-NG and Archive Team Warrior. Everything but EVE-NG runs in LXC or Podman (for Archive Team).

I also have a HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen9, which is right now a "toy" server. It has a E3-1225v5 CPU, 16GB RAM, and 2x480GB SSDs in Hardware RAID 1 (I got it that way from eBay). This runs OpenBSD 7.6.

In my dad's place, I have a HPE ProLiant ML30 Gen10 which is a Tor bridge. It runs Rocky Linux with the Tor bridge in a FreeBSD VM.

My little playground is a Dell XPS 8940 that I found on FB marketplace. 11th gen i5 that had 8GB ram that I paid $125 for. I've replaced the ram with 64GB of 2x32gb sticks. Running Proxmox.

I'm using an Icydock drive bay with 4 2.5" sata disks. I started with four old 1TB spinners that were in the parts bin but have since replaced all. One is a 1TB ssd for VM's/LXC's. The other 3 drives are 2TB WD Blue spinners that are in a zfs pool passed to a Debian LXC that is setup as an SMB shre with 3.8TB available to the network.

Idles at less than 45 watts and is super quite even under load. I don't keep anything important on this box so I'm not overly concerned reliability. Its quiet, fairly cheap and does all of my simple things and does them well enough.

I'm thinking about adding an HBA card and another Icydock bay for more storage.

I tried TrueNAS, but it doesn't like mounting stuff out of the container, I'm going to try Unraid now, because it supports that a little better.
