In the NL, the leaders all won, and with the division winners and first round byes already decided, the only main thing up in the air is the last WC spot.
In the AL, there was plenty of action and drama – Toronto won, so that effectively knocked out the Red Sox from the division race, but still tied with the Yankees for first.
Detroit finally stopped its free fall, and that was good enough to make it to a tie atop AL Central, although the Indians Guardians have the tiebreaker.
Funny comment about the Tigers:
When remembering this week’s three-game series against the Cleveland Guardians, the Detroit Tigers will at least be able to say, “it could have been worse.”
The Tigers defeated the Guardians 4-2 on Thursday to salvage the series and stem a free fall that has seen them go from runaway leaders of the AL Central to desperately trying to hold onto a playoff spot. The win snaps an eight-game losing streak and moves Detroit back into a tie atop the division with the Guardians, who hold the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Seattle won, so it’s very close to a 1st round bye that can ensure that it will make it to the 2nd round. Houston won, too, so they still have a chance for a WC spot, and to potentially spoil Seattle’s season.
