Less than 10 games left in the MLB, so playoff will be starting soon. Start with the NL since they are much more settled. Philadelphia (92 wins) already won its division, so they’re playing for seeding. Milwaukee (94 wins) will probably win the division since it has a 6 games lead over the Cubs, and if that happens it can’t be worse than 2nd seed. Dodgers have a 4 games lead over the Padres, so they could win the division. As for the wildcard: Either Cincinatti or Arizona could catch the Mets, but I don’t expect any major change elsewhere. Unlike the NL, the AL is still very close and unsettled, though most of that is about seeding since there are 7 - 8 teams are fighting for 6 spots, home court, and the chance of a 1st week bye. Toronto has a 3 game lead over the Yankees, and 5 over the Red Sox. Not much of a lead, but it may be enough. In Central, Detroit is falling fast and nursing a 3 game lead over Cleveland. Given the current trend, Cleveland has a chance to overtake them. In the Wild West, Texas is quickly fading, so it’s either the Seattle Mariners or the Houston Astros, but it’s too close to call right now – maybe in 2 days, Of the outside looking in teams, Cleveland has some chance, but Texas is on the ropes, and it’s not likely to make it unless one or two teams completely collapse.

The American League Championship Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians resumes with Game 3 on Thursday, but there is important news for fans to know. The game, originally set for 6 p.m., has been moved to 1 p.m. because of forecasted rain in Cleveland.

The series is tied 1-1 after the Rays beat the Guardians 3-1 Tuesday night at Tropicana Field.

takeahike I don’t threeinks ders goona bees a threespeet.

Well, that seems *exceedingly* unlikely at this point – out of more than 40 instances where an MLB team fell behind 0–3 in a best-of-seven series, only the 2004 Red Sox managed to complete the comeback and win.

ZZZZZZZ

real_aurgathor And they beat the Yankees……sweet memories. 👍🥎

And then they went on to win their first World Championship in 86 years four straight, finally shaking off the Curse of the Bambino. Did the City of Boston then finally get over it and forgive Bill Bruckner? I understand that he and his family was so harassed that he wound up moving to Idaho.

Cleveland win 3-2…..take a 2-1 gm lead.

Apparently, the Dodgers’ payroll is greater than the other 3 teams’ combined!!

Coming into the playoffs, the Dodgers carried a $338 million payroll, per USA Today via the MLB Labor Relations Department. That figure was the second-highest in MLB, with only the New York Mets spending more in 2026, given the Dodgers’ salary deferrals.

By comparison, the Milwaukee Brewers rank 19th with a $143.5 million payroll, the Tampa Bay Rays rank 25th with a $98.3 million payroll, and the Cleveland Guardians rank 30th with a $74.2 million payroll. Add those figures together, and you get $316 million.

When one compares that to the consistent 72° Trop I’d call it raw too! 😉

I’m hoping for a Brewers/Rays WS matchup so we’ll see a historic first-time winner…though Brewers/Indians would be fine too I guess. (that’s right, to me they’re STILL the Indians dammit!)

Beachie

The Guardians beat themselves last night with costly errors and the Rays took advantage of them. After todays game it’s back to the Trop tomorrow, There’s No Place Like Dome #RaysUp
