Aug 24th was this past week, Windows 95 is 30. 3 Decades.

Seems like the only good things Microsoft does wind up on the chopping block, like the interfaces from 95 to 7 and Aeroglass in Vista and 7, with Windows 8, 10 and 11 native interfaces horrific, making it necessary to use a third party solution. When 10 was in development they put out a survey of what people wanted the most and Aeroglass was the overwhelming winner, but they still chose not to bring it back, even as just an option that likely could have allowed the downsides to be avoided at the user’s choice. Like the old say goes: If I want your opinion, I’ll give it to you.

I started out with a Commadore 64. We had a old 3.1 windows PC at work I played around with, mainly played solitaire. Windows 95 changed it all. PC’s for the masses, relatively easy to use.. I’ve been hooked ever since. I just enjoy messing with PC’s, hair pulling frustrations and all.

I bought a top of the line Dell PC in 95, about $3,500. With a giant 50 lbs monstrosity of a monitor. Had a HUGE 1.8 GB hard drive. I don’t remember the other specs. When I ordered, the guy asked if I really needed that big of a HD. LoL I was already ripping CD’s and making MP3’s back then. I now have 4 TB’s of movies and TV Series.
