Amazon has removed the ability to hide apps on Fire TVs in the latest forced software update for its streaming devices. Pre-installed apps that are impossible to uninstall, like Prime Video, Fire TV Channels, and Amazon Live Shopping, can no longer be hidden away. The change also affects your own apps; they can no longer be hidden if, for example, only certain user profiles use an app.

Mine did get the update with no hide option on the triple-bar menu. So far, apps already hidden are still hidden.
