We’ve discussed them just a little here already.
I’ve been a stevia user and use a 100% organic and pure extract. It’s good for iced drinks. It does have an aftertaste when used in foods. It is said to be a heart friendly food item, but after reading I realized my heart thumps might be caused by it (slowing the heart?) So I cut back and started drinking more plain water.
We have lead pipes here in Waterbury and I’m hoping to get a purifier a few months from now.
So on top of drinking water I decided to diversify my sweetener use and I got monkfruit sweetener, but it has xylitol in it darn it. It IS pretty good and is used like sugar.
I’m also going to allow aspartame a little again. I just want to keep the stevia use down a little bit as my heart likes going easier on it.
As I’m diabetic, plain sugar is something I avoid but every 3 months or so, I get a bag of sugar for general uses, like sauces.
My idea is everything in moderation.
