If he were driving a 20+ years old beater – yes. A relatively new Tesla with FSD? That’s just not very likely. More than likely his “paperwork” was fine in every respects. Tesla buyers in general have at least middle, or upper-middle class income, and at level the insurance shouldn’t be much of an issue unless he had many tickets before.

1) As per above, he must’ve had a drivers license. Expired tab or lack of insurance may not get mentioned, but a suspended/revoked drivers license would’ve been very important.

2) Looks you didn’t read or understand what I wrote. Regardless of deep pockets, the amount they can get from the insurance company is limited by the policy, and it’s almost certainly much-much less than the current amount.

Why is that, not having a license is par for the course down there as already mentioned only 35% of the drivers on the road in Dade have valid drivers license’s or insurance and most have pending arrest warrants for unpaid citations.

Law enforcement down there doesn’t have the time to arrest them so they are just issued another citation for driving with a valid license, no tag and no insurance, many times while driving a vehicle way more expensive than a Tesla.

Drug dealing is a very lucrative business and many of those those people can easily afford way more than a Tesla or two.

You really don’t understand what it is like down there and why people who are lawful are fleeing that area for safer parts of the state, as it is getting worse than the days of the Cocaine Cowboy’s of the 70’s.

I grew up in SEFL and have a real good idea of what the place is like, as such I do not need to Google for any information about what some folks down there can afford, vehicles like Tesla’s, high end Mercedes and Lamborghini’s parked in the garages of their rented house’s.

No need to I was a long time resident of South East Florida and have a good idea of how effed up it is down there, the other poster lives in the upper Northwest of the US very far away from that area and lacks a good understanding how screwed up that third world s***hole really is.

Which is a major reason why I and a lot of natives of SE Florida (I was born down there) have moved out of SE Florida, a area that includes Dade and Broward County and some of South West Palm Beach.

Where I moved out of there we had at a minimum two homicides a week, just in the unincorporated areas of the county, not the cities which didn’t keep easy to search records, not a good place to live at all.

Down there ourt insurance rates where over 275% higher then they are now up here due to all of the unlicensed, uninsured drivers on the roads down there.

Is it screwed up, yes, if a uninsured unlicensed driver caused a collision with my vehicle and was clearly at fault and was injured, he could file a claim against my insurance to cover his injuries.

As such I had to carry insurance to protect me, so he couldn’t sue me personally for his injuries.

As for arrest warrants and why little is done about them here the facts from a person who know the true story.

Your data leaves out illegals (which SE Florida is full of) who never had a license to begin with ,which is another 20% or more.

Suspended and revoked licenses are only one part of the problem, another major part is illegals who do not have licenses or insurance.

I doubt any Northern tourists go to SE Florida anymore, Dania used to be a a major Canadian winter location but high prices and crime pushed them further to the North and to the SW coast.
