You’re maybe 25 years too soon for anyone under 70 not to know the Stooges. People didn’t really lose track of media that came before them until social media and streaming platforms started putting out so much media that old stuff just wasn’t put in front of people because there isn’t enough time in a life to watch everything new. I’m 47, the internet didn’t fully come around until I was an adult, and social media and streaming was behind that. Most of what we consumed on tv during my childhood was reruns; the new stuff was only on primetime and only in the fall (we only had network tv, not cable).
