Comcast saw highs and lows in Q2 as it added a record 378,000 Xfinity Mobile lines but shed a record 226,000 broadband customers. Comcast is encouraged by its new, national packages equipped with price locks and a free mobile line for a year while eliminating data caps.

It was the best of times and the worst of times for Comcast in the second quarter of 2025. And the company believes better times are ahead following major adjustments to its pricing and packaging of home broadband.
On the positive end, Q2 revenues were better than expected and the operator added a record 378,000 Xfinity Mobile lines, beating the gain of 349,000 expected by analysts. Those Q2 adds were up from a gain of 322,000 in the year-ago period, pushing its total to 8.52 million. That result is driven in part by Comcast’s offer of a free mobile line to new and existing customers.

On the other end, Comcast shed a record 226,000 total broadband subs, including a loss of 201,000 residential subs and a loss of 25,000 business customers. Residential broadband losses, though steep, were better than the -243,000 expected by analysts.
Comcast ended the period with 31.54 million broadband customers (29.98 million residential and 2.55 million business). …. Turning to video, Comcast lost another 325,000 domestic video subs, an improvement from a year-ago loss of 419,000, lowering its total to 11.77 million. …..
