I see this coming with more and more smaller operators in time. Its very costly to offer TV service with all the equipment and fees they pay for. At some point the number of subscribers reaches a certain threshold where its no longer profitable. You can only sustain annual price increases so much. With each price increase more and more customers are moving away from traditional TV.
Didn't WOW use Tivo IPTV anyway? Not sure what Tivo charges them, but its quite a headache of a system. There's nothing but complaints about the Evolution Digital Tivo system in our neighborhood social media pages for SECV cable. Usually its bad wifi causing all the disconnects and buffering. People talk and believe me YouTube TV was mentioned many times. Word gets out, less people take the MSO's bundled video and I could see this happening all over the country.
Its certainly becoming an end of an era.
