MartyA Today I had a Vz tech show up and do the same thing. He noticed that the host ID and Data value did not match what shows in their system, even after he had someone try to overwrite those.
I believe the proper process would be for Verizon to de-provision the CableCARD and then Re-Activate it. They may not have the ability to “change”, but should be able to remove it and then add it back with the new numbers.
When I last got my current CableCARD to replace a bad one, I received a printout that included an “Equipment Activation Code.” I remember that the automated service asked me for the Activation code when I moved the CableCARD to a replacement TiVo. If I recall correctly, there were two options, activating a new card or re-activating the card on to another device. It took about 30 minutes for my protected channels to appear. But, I doubt you would have an Activation code from an original install.
Anyway, all you can do is try again. They are trying to move away from CableCARDs (even though they are shipping out their own STBs with CableCARDs than can do both QAM and IP), but you do have some leverage. You ARE paying for your CableCARD. So, HUCA until you get satisfaction. Just do not make any changes to your service or you WILL lose it.

ETA: Oh, and one other thing, I was told by a Verizon Tech to ask specifically for “TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE” when calling as that goes directly to CableCARD support. At least it did as of 06/15/2024.
